My Best Shot...so far

Carly nudges us again with a photo challenge asking us to post "our best shot."Being new to photography (and loving it!) I've been experimenting then tossing a whole lot of them ( Oh! the convenience of digital!) This angle shot was found on the Waterfront in downtown Portland on a bleak winter day with my Nikon Sistas! (It reminded me of a similar photo posted by Jama recently.)

  1. It reminds me a bit of Margaret Bourke-White's work (BIG compliment!).

  2. Wow! Thanks, Diane. MBWs work is spectacular and holds such important historical issues. I'd love to be able to do that!

  3. When Ryan was about 4, I took her to a MBW exhibit at the Mint museum in Charlotte. She was fascinated! A few weeks later, we went to the libary and there was a poster for the exhibit behind the librarian's desk. Ryan got all excited and said, "Mama! Mama! Look! Margaret Bourke-White!" The librarian nearly fell over, thinking this tiny child had read the poster, but actually, she just recognized the picture on it. THEN, at her 5th birthday party, she got SO excited when she opened a coffee table book of MBW's photos. All the other mothers from her preschool class just looked at her, dumbfounded :). It's one of my best memories of that year!!!

  8. As that picture was loading, I was expecting it to be of a train tunnel! What a great perspective from an angle we don't usually see!
