I love RR's blog Every Day, One Good Thing as it reminds me to take a few moments each day to remind myself of the goodnesses in my life.
This morning it includes two hours in bed with my current novel, The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff. I enjoy the quiet hours of reading that Winter allows. Cuddled up with my cat, Chole, and a hot cup of coffee doesn't get much better on a Saturday morning!
Oh yum. coffee -- bed -- cat -- good book. Love it. How are you liking the book?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're back! That's not a book (or author) I know, but I shall look it up. Of course, I have about 692 books on my shelf I need to read (it's a big shelf). I'm working my way through Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, as I joined a book club made up of mostly men (bizarre, I know) and they don't read any girly fluff (like the mommy book clubs I've belonged to in the past) ;). It's not what I would have chosen to read on my own, but it's been better than I expected (and I might just learn something! ;)
ReplyDeletei'm making a switch from reading books about teaching to novels, memoir and more poetry. i'll have to keep stopping here for recommendations.
ReplyDeleteHey Terri - I'm loving the 19th Wife. Go figger!
ReplyDeleteDiane - Guns, Germs and Steel is a worthy read. Is yours an online group?
Nancy - by all means, give up the professional reads if you can! If you want excellent recommnedations, check out Terri's blog above. She's my heroine (and my dear friend!)
I really liked The 19th Wife too- it's probably even better while curled up with a kitty and coffee!
